NRM Tribunal Releases First Batch of Rulings in Election Disputes

The NRM Election Disputes Tribunal has today released the first batch of rulings arising from over 426 petitions filed following the NRM Parliamentary Primary Elections held on 17th July 2025.

This marks a major milestone in the Tribunal’s work, which commenced formal sittings on 29th July 2025.

In an earlier statement, the Tribunal pledged to conduct its proceedings with transparency, fairness, and efficiency. The release of today’s rulings is a testament to that commitment.

Each petition has been individually adjudicated following a thorough review of submitted evidence and arguments, guided by the NRM Election Regulations, relevant laws, and the principles of natural justice.

Petitioners and their legal representatives have been asked to collect copies of the rulings from the Tribunal Registry at Plot 30, Kyadondo Road.

Where valid email addresses were provided, soft copies of the rulings will be sent accordingly.

The Tribunal has confirmed that more rulings will be released on a rolling basis in the coming days.

This year’s primaries attracted widespread attention due to tightly contested races and reports of irregularities in some constituencies.

The Tribunal’s work is seen as a critical step toward resolving disputes and maintaining party cohesion ahead of the national polls.

“We remain committed to concluding the Tribunal’s work with the same integrity and fairness that has defined our process thus far,” the statement concluded.
