Museveni Swearing-In Hype Builds as ONC’s Namyalo Launches Countdown

Preparations for the swearing-in of President-elect, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni have officially begun, with ONC Manager Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye launching the mobilization drive in a high-energy address at Kyambogo University.

The ceremony, slated for May 12, 2026, at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, is expected to draw thousands of supporters, dignitaries, and regional leaders as Uganda ushers in a new presidential term.

Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd, Hajjat Namyalo foundly known as Chief Muzzukulu, praised supporters of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) for their steadfast commitment, noting that their continued support has been instrumental in sustaining the party’s vision and leadership.

She emphasized that the upcoming term represents a critical phase for the country, calling for renewed focus on safeguarding Uganda’s achievements while accelerating development priorities.

Key among these, she highlighted, is the implementation of the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV), which aims to drive Uganda toward middle-income status through strategic investments in key sectors.

Chief Muzzukulu also highlughted the importance of scaling up the Parish Development Model (PDM), describing it as a transformative initiative designed to uplift households from subsistence to the money economy.

“The journey ahead requires unity, discipline, and collective effort,” she told the gathering, urging Ugandans to rally behind the national vision of socio-economic transformation.

The launch event set the tone for what is expected to be weeks of nationwide mobilization activities, with organizers promising a colorful and historic swearing-in ceremony at Kololo.
