The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Kampala today for an official visit aimed at strengthening ties between Somalia and Uganda.
He was received at Entebbe International Airport by Uganda’s Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth.
President Mohamud later held high-level talks with his Ugandan counterpart, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, at State Lodge Nakasero.

The meeting underscored the long-standing brotherly relations between the two nations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional peace, security, and development.
According to official reports, the two leaders discussed a wide range of issues including trade and investment cooperation, regional integration, and bilateral development partnerships.
Security topped the agenda, with emphasis on joint efforts to stabilize Somalia through frameworks such as the African Union Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), to which Uganda remains the top troop-contributing country.
President Mohamud has always praised Uganda’s contribution to regional peacekeeping efforts, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) in Somalia.
