President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called upon the youth of Africa and the Arab world to embrace ideology, unity, and innovation as key tools for building peace and prosperity across the two regions.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Afro-Arab Youth Congress held at Munyonyo, President Museveni urged young people to adopt an ideology-driven approach to leadership, emphasizing that sustainable progress cannot be achieved without firm guiding principles.
“My message to the youth of Africa and the Arab world is to embrace ideology, unity, and innovation as tools for peace and prosperity,” he said. “Being youthful is biological, but what principles guide you? What is your ideology?”
The President highlighted patriotism as the most fundamental ideology, urging the youth to love their countries and the African continent as a whole.
“I recommend the ideology of patriotism—love your country, whichever it is, and love Africa, because you need it,” he added.
Museveni also underscored the demographic strength of the African continent, noting that with Africa’s population currently standing at 1.5 billion people, projected to reach 2.5 billion within the next 30 years, the continent holds immense potential to shape the global future.
“Young people need to understand that they belong to the future of the world. The future lies in the Afro-Arab world,” the President said.
The Afro-Arab Youth Congress brought together delegates from across Africa and the Arab world to discuss shared opportunities in leadership, innovation, and economic transformation.
