Louis Kimuli has been officially nominated by the NRM Electoral Commission to contest for the Central Youth Member of Parliament seat. The nomination was conducted earlier today at the party’s Secretariat in Kampala by Dr. Tanga Odoi, the Chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission.
Kimuli, who picked nomination forms last week, was visibly upbeat as he completed the formal process, accompanied by a group of youthful supporters clad in yellow. His nomination now cements his position as one of the official contenders in the NRM primaries for the Central Youth MP slot ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Speaking shortly after his nomination, Kamuli reiterated his commitment to being a strong voice for young people across the central region. He promised to advocate for policies that address youth unemployment, access to government programs, and entrepreneurship development.
“I am here to raise the banner for the youth. This is not just a personal ambition—it’s a mission to champion the real issues affecting young people. I thank the NRM for giving the youth a platform to lead,” Kimuli said.
He emphasized his deep loyalty to the NRM and hailed President Yoweri Museveni as a leader who has consistently prioritized the empowerment of the youth through strategic programs such as the Youth Livelihood Programme, Emyooga, and the Parish Development Model.
Dr. Tanga Odoi, while handing over the nomination certificate, urged all aspirants to conduct peaceful campaigns and uphold the party’s code of conduct.
“As NRM, we are committed to a free, fair, and credible electoral process. Let every candidate go to the ground, sell their ideas, and respect the rules of engagement,” Dr. Odoi stated.
With his grassroots backing and strong messaging on youth empowerment, Kimuli is positioning himself as a frontrunner in the Central Youth MP contest.
