FORT PORTAL, Uganda – Tooro Kingdom has issued an official statement dismissing what it described as false and misleading reports circulating about the health of His Majesty the Omukama.
In a statement released on Monday, August 3, 2026, the Kingdom reassured the public that the King is in good health and currently abroad undertaking official engagements while furthering his studies.
“We wish to reassure all our people that His Majesty is in good health. He is currently abroad for official engagements and to further his studies,” the statement reads.
The Kingdom expressed concern over what it called malicious rumours and defamatory misinformation, warning that such false reports create unnecessary anxiety, undermine public trust and do not serve the interests of the people of Tooro.
Officials urged members of the public to rely only on information communicated through the Kingdom’s official channels, reaffirming their commitment to providing timely, accurate and official updates on matters of public interest.
“We encourage everyone to rely only on information released via the Kingdom’s official channels,” the statement added.
The Kingdom also appealed to the people of Tooro and friends of the Kingdom to reject misinformation and instead promote truth, unity and responsible communication.
“Let us work together to promote truth, unity and responsible communication as we continue building the Tooro we all desire,” the statement concluded.
The clarification comes amid speculation on social media regarding the Omukama’s health, with the Kingdom emphasizing that the monarch remains well and actively engaged in his official responsibilities overseas.
