Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has met with the Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), General Mubarakh Muganga, this afternoon.
The meeting was attended by the UPDF Commander of Land Forces, Lt. Gen. Kayanja Muhanga and Chief of Defense Intelligence and Security Maj. Gen. James Birungi, among others.
This meeting follows an earlier one in April at the Mbuya UPDF Barracks, where Gen. Kainerugaba met with a delegation from the RDF led by Maj. Gen. Vincent Nyakarundi, the RDF Army Chief of Staff.
During that meeting, the leaders discussed bilateral and regional security matters.
The CDF’s office noted that these engagements are routine and part of ongoing security dialogues between Uganda and Rwanda.
