Georgia President Kavelashvili Mourns King Oyo

Georgia’s President Mikheil Kavelashvili has extended condolences to Uganda following the death of Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

In a message shared on social media, Kavelashvili expressed sympathy to the late King’s family, the people of Tooro and Ugandans.

“I extend my sincere condolences on the passing of His Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV of Tooro. My heartfelt sympathies go to the Royal Family, the people of Tooro and the people of Uganda,” Kavelashvili said.

King Oyo, who ascended the throne as a child in 1995, died at the age of 34, prompting an outpouring of condolences from leaders and institutions in Uganda and abroad.

His death has drawn tributes from political leaders, diplomats and members of royal families, who have remembered him for his long reign and role in promoting the cultural heritage and development of the Tooro Kingdom.
