Odrek Rwabwogo, the Presidential Advisor for Special Duties in Uganda, welcomed the speaker of the parliament of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia. The Ethiopian parliamentary leader’s visit holds significant weight as he is slated to be the keynote speaker at today’s mentorship luncheon at State House Entebbe.

The theme of this year’s luncheon, “Modelling the right behavior for the youth of Africa in the 21st century,” emphasizes the importance of guiding the younger generation towards positive and constructive paths. This theme aligns with both Uganda and Ethiopia’s shared vision of nurturing responsible leadership among the youth, ensuring a prosperous future for Africa.

During his statement, Rwabwogo also announced a poignant tribute to the late Ugandan Speaker Jacob Oulanyah, whose memory will be honored at the event. Additionally, the President of Uganda will commend 20 retired individuals for their exceptional service to the nation, highlighting the importance of recognizing and celebrating contributions to society.

Rwabwogo expressed his gratitude towards Speaker Rt. Hon. Anita Among, who warmly received her Ethiopian counterpart at the airport, accompanied by Hon Elijah Okupa. The presence of Hon. Norbert Mao, scheduled to speak at the event tomorrow, further underscores the significance of the occasion.

Acknowledging the collaborative efforts of the youthful team at PACEID (Presidential Advisory Committee on Economic and Industrial Development), Rwabwogo commended their dedication in supporting initiatives aimed at fostering a new culture of economic prosperity and effective leadership within Ugandan society.
