Buganda Kingdom has officially launched its malaria vaccine introduction campaign, marking a major step in the fight against the disease.
The launch event was held today at the newly inaugurated Busimbi Health Center IV in Ssingo County, Mityana District.
Representing the Kabaka of Buganda, Nnalinya Kagere Sarah urged the thousands in attendance to ensure their children are vaccinated—not only against malaria but also other preventable diseases—to foster a healthier Buganda region.

He reaffirmed the kingdom’s unwavering commitment to eradicating malaria, which continues to pose a major health threat in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Richard Kabanda, Commissioner for Health Promotion, reassured the public of the vaccine’s safety and its critical role in protecting the younger population from malaria.
