President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has confirmed that Al-Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba will stand unopposed for the position of NRM Chairperson of the Entrepreneurs League after his rivals unanimously endorsed him.
The development followed a meeting convened by the President with all the candidates for the position.
According to Museveni, the aspirants demonstrated maturity and foresight by stepping aside in favour of Basajjabalaba.
“I thank Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa for bringing these factions together and commend the aspirants for their foresight. As I often say, it is not just about who is in the position, but what can be achieved,” President Museveni noted.

He congratulated Basajjabalaba on his endorsement and hailed the other candidates for what he described as a selfless act in the interest of unity and progress within the ruling party.
Other candidates in the race were; King Ceasor Mulenga, Sanjay Tanna and Phillip Kakuru.
The NRM Entrepreneurs League plays a key role in mobilizing the business community and shaping policy discussions on private sector growth within the party’s broader.
Polls for the chairman, were postponed during the just concluded NRM Delegates Conference.
