Earlier today, the Speaker of Uganda’s Parliament, Anita Annet Among, convened a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Uganda, His Excellency Sasayama Takuya. The gathering emphasized the enduring bilateral relations between the two nations, which have flourished over the past 62 years.
During the meeting, Speaker Among underscored the significance of the longstanding friendship and partnership shared by Uganda and Japan. She highlighted various infrastructural projects that stand as tangible symbols of collaboration, including the iconic Nile Bridge and numerous road construction initiatives.
In addition to acknowledging past achievements, Speaker Among seized the opportunity to advocate for further cooperation, particularly in the realm of trade and commerce. She appealed to Japan to explore opportunities to deepen its engagement with Uganda’s economy, emphasizing the country’s high-quality coffee and other exportable products as areas of mutual interest.
