The International Criminal Court (ICC) has strongly condemned the U.S. government’s decision to impose sanctions on its Chief Prosecutor, Karim A.A. Khan.

In a statement, the ICC deplored the move and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering justice for millions of victims of atrocities worldwide.

The Court called on its 125 member states, civil society, and the international community to stand in solidarity with the ICC and uphold international justice.

This latest U.S. action has reignited tensions over the Court’s role in prosecuting war crimes and crimes against humanity, with supporters arguing that such sanctions undermine global accountability mechanisms.
