Today, the Right Honorable Robinah Nabbanja, Uganda’s Prime Minister, presided over the 2023 National Partnership Forum (NPF) at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel. The NPF, an integral component of the National Partnership Dialogue Framework, plays a pivotal role in operationalizing the National Partnership Policy.

The NPF serves as a crucial platform for fostering collaboration between the Ugandan Government and its Development Partners. Its primary objective is to facilitate coordination and enhance the efficiency of development assistance, aligning efforts towards sustainable national development.

In attendance at today’s meeting were esteemed representatives, including Honorable Ministers, Technical Officers from diverse Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as Development Partners. The diverse gathering underscored the inclusive nature of the forum, providing a comprehensive representation of key stakeholders.

One of the significant outcomes of the meeting was the renewal of commitments by both the Government and Development Partners to sustain the momentum of the NPF. Participants expressed their dedication to convening regularly and engaging in substantive discussions on matters of mutual interest.

A noteworthy development arising from the discussions was the agreement to establish a Joint Accountability and Results Framework. This collaborative framework is expected to play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of mutual accountability between the Government and its Development Partners. By jointly addressing challenges and monitoring progress, the framework aims to enhance the effectiveness of development initiatives.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja emphasized the importance of this joint commitment, stating, “The establishment of the Joint Accountability and Results Framework is a significant step forward in our collective efforts to ensure that development assistance is utilized optimally for the benefit of our citizens. It reflects our shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and achieving tangible results in our collaborative endeavors.”
