Sudan’s General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo expressed his satisfaction with his visit to the Republic of Uganda and meeting President Yoweri Museveni, stating, “Today, I was pleased to visit the sister Republic of Uganda and meet His Excellency the President Yoweri Museveni.”
According to a statement posted on his Twitter handle, he further elaborated that during the discussions, they delved into the situation in Sudan and the resultant suffering of the Sudanese people.
In his explanation to President Museveni, General Daglo detailed, “I provided His Excellency President Museveni with a comprehensive explanation regarding the reasons behind the eruption of the war. It was ignited by the remnants, aided by their leaders in the armed forces, and by obstructive parties that support the continuation of the conflict.”
General Daglo conveyed President Museveni’s unwavering support for Sudan’s peace efforts, stating, “President Museveni affirmed his full support for our people’s quest for peace and stability. He expressed his commitment to utilizing all his capabilities and relationships to assist the Sudanese in overcoming this challenging phase in their history.”

Expressing gratitude, General Daglo acknowledged the warm reception, remarking, “We thank His Excellency President Museveni for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to us during our visit. We also extend our appreciation to the Ugandan people for their solidarity and for hosting a significant number of Sudanese displaced by the conflict.”
Reiterating their commitment to previously agreed outcomes, General Daglo affirmed, “We remain steadfast in adhering to the resolutions of the IGAD Presidents’ Summit in Djibouti. We will persist in implementing the commitments made to terminate the war, alleviate the suffering of our people, and restore security and stability in our country.”
