Louis Kimuli has confirmed his participation in the race for the Central Youth Member of Parliament seat after picking nomination forms from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat earlier today.

A youthful mobilizer with deep roots in the ruling party’s structures, Kimuli declared his intention to contest under the NRM ticket, promising to be a voice for the young people in the Central Region. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to the NRM ideology and hailed President Yoweri Museveni as a visionary leader who has consistently championed youth empowerment.

Speaking after picking the forms, Kimuli told journalists that his candidature is anchored on building a united, productive, and progressive generation of young people aligned with the core values of patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy.

“The time is now for the youth of Central Uganda to be represented by someone who understands their aspirations, challenges, and potential. I have lived with them, worked with them, and now I seek to serve them,” Kimuli said.

He pledged to advocate for increased access to government youth programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP), and the Emyooga Initiative, stressing the need for strategic mentorship, skills development, and innovation hubs to combat unemployment.

Kimuli’s declaration adds momentum to the growing political interest among young leaders as Uganda gears up for the 2026 general elections. His supporters describe him as a grounded, disciplined cadre who has consistently mobilized youth under the NRM umbrella and contributed to grassroots political education.

The Central Youth MP seat is currently drawing attention from several contenders, but Kimuli believes his track record, party loyalty, and development-focused agenda will give him an edge.

“I am not just seeking office; I am offering leadership that listens, acts, and delivers,” he affirmed.
