Kiconco Brenda has officially declared her candidacy for National Chairperson of the NRM Youth League, unveiling a bold campaign built on unity, integrity, and grassroots empowerment.
Under the theme “Youth Voice,” Kiconco is calling on Uganda’s youth to rise from local council positions to national leadership, emphasizing that the time has come for young people not only to be heard, but to lead.
“From the village youth chairperson to every youth leader— from the grassroots to the digital frontier— the time has come for our voices not just to echo, but to lead,” she said in her campaign statement.
A passionate mobilizer and advocate for youth-led development, Kiconco’s message is focused on shifting the NRM Youth League from what she describes as “empty promises” to actionable, inclusive programs rooted in the party’s four core principles: Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Democracy, and Socio-Economic Transformation.
“We are 75% of Uganda, but numbers without unity are like arrows without direction,” Kiconco declared, urging young people to rally behind a shared vision.
Kiconco’s campaign, running under the 2025–2030 strategic cycle, pledges to build cohesive youth structures from LC1 to national platforms, while also prioritizing digital engagement, economic empowerment, and civic education for the young generation.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Youth League elections are expected to attract several aspirants from across the country, but Kiconco’s early announcement—paired with a strong grassroots appeal—sets the tone for a campaign anchored in inclusivity and transformation.
“It’s not enough to wear the party colors,” she noted. “We must live the NRM spirit.”
Her rallying call to “walk with me, village by village, with vision, integrity, and courage” reflects a strategy to connect deeply with rural and urban youth alike, leveraging her own experience rising through local structures.
